Is it Magic?

Sometimes people think, that doulas and birth educators do some form of “magic”. Let me tell you why my birth prep course is not magic, but it’s anyway magical.

I do not believe that there is one way that works for everybody. So no, I do not teach magic tricks that guarantee a certain type of birth. BUT… the KBBirth pre course is an investment in your physical, emotional, and mental well-being, to make sure you are as well prepared as possible.

The course helps you to uncover your own magic so that you can have a better birth.

  • It increases the chances of having a positive birth experience. Preparing for birth can help find a way to deal with fear and anxiety. Learning about physiological processes can increase trust in yourself, your body, and your baby. All of this has a positive impact on the birthing process.
  • It helps you feel more in control. This class provides you with the information and tools you need to feel comfortable, trust in the uncontrollable birth process, and make informed decisions that are right for you.
  • It helps you feel more confident. Olot/olim/immigrants are especially vulnerable during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum as they have difficulties with Hebrew while also being unfamiliar with the medical system, and often lack family support. This course is designed so that you can confidently navigate your journey through an unknown environment.
  • It helps reduce the likelihood of (unwanted) interventions. Preparing for birth can help you understand the options available so you can choose what is right for you and advocate for your preferences. This course is unique as it is non-judgemental and teaches you tools to have a positive birth when interventions are wanted or needed.
  • It improves communication between you and your healthcare provider. You will learn to understand the medical language used during childbirth, the Hebrew terms, how to communicate your needs and preferences to your healthcare provider, and navigate challenging conversations.
  • It helps you bond with your baby and partner. The course helps expectant parents feel more connected to their baby and their partner, which can improve the transition to parenthood. In this course, the birth partner does not only learn tools to support the birthing parent but he/she is seen as an individual person going through this journey too.

The KBBirth course supports you to have a more positive and empowering birth experience!
